Guru Support
Support for Guru on iOS and Android. Last updated: October 7, 2026.
Installing Guru
On iPhone or iPad, install Guru from the App Store. On Android, install Guru from Google Play. If you cannot install, contact support with your device model and the message shown by Google Play.
What to Include
When you contact support, please include your device model, iOS or Android version, app version, and a short description of the issue. If the problem is related to a PDF, imported deck, generated notes, subscription, or credits, mention the related workflow so we can investigate faster.
Purchases and Subscriptions
In-app subscriptions and one-time products use Apple's App Store on iOS and Google Play Billing on Android, with RevenueCat helping to manage purchase status and access. Product availability and prices are shown in the app and the store's confirmation screen.
- Restore on iOS: use the Apple Account that made the purchase, open Guru, and choose Restore Purchases.
- Restore on Android: use the Google Play account that made the purchase, open Guru's upgrade screen, and choose Restore purchases. Sign in to the same Guru account for account-linked content. If access is missing, contact support with your order ID; do not buy again just to troubleshoot.
- Cancel: manage App Store subscriptions in Apple subscription settings, or Google Play subscriptions in Google Play subscriptions. Cancel before renewal to stop future subscription charges.
- Refunds: request an App Store refund at reportaproblem.apple.com; for Google Play purchases, follow Google Play's refund process or contact us for help. Eligibility depends on store rules and applicable law.
Deleting your Guru account or uninstalling the app does not cancel store subscriptions. Restoring a purchase does not replenish credits already spent; contact support about missing credits. Purchases made on the website are managed separately in web billing settings.
AI Notes and Credits
AI note generation may use credits based on the amount of selected content and the selected generation options. Review generated notes before using them for study, because AI output can be incomplete or inaccurate.
Deleting App Data and Your Account
You can delete study content in the app. Exported files and local backups must be removed from wherever you saved them.
On either iOS or Android, open Settings → Account → Delete Account and confirm, or sign in at guruowl.com/settings/security to delete your account on the web. Both options remove your account, linked mobile identities, and associated server-side study, review, sync, backup, purchase, and credit database records.
Both options also clean up cloud backup, Anki sync, and other files whose ownership can be verified. Files with uncertain ownership or references from another account are kept and logged for manual follow-up while account deletion continues. Old files without database references or files written by work already in progress may also need follow-up. If a storage error prevents completion, retry or email hello@guruowl.com for help.
Export anything you want to keep before deleting. Deletion does not remove your exported backups, guarantee erasure of local copies on every device, cancel subscriptions, or erase records held separately by the stores and other providers. See the privacy policy for details.
