Formula and assumptions
Required new cards per study day = remaining new cards × 7 ÷ (calendar days until the exam × study days per week). Compare this unrounded rate with your chosen capacity.
Days are counted from your local calendar date to the exam date, excluding exam day. Today is not treated as an extra day.
Because you choose a weekly count rather than specific weekdays, available study time is estimated as calendar days × study days per week ÷ 7. This can be fractional and assumes study days are evenly spread; it is not an exact schedule.
Example: 1,200 new cards, 42 days to the exam and 5 study days per week give 30 estimated study days. 1,200 ÷ 30 = 40 new cards per study day. A capacity of 30 is too low; 40 meets this new-card target.
Reviews take additional time and are not included. This calculator has no observed study history: it compares your inputs, not your actual pace. It does not predict passing, higher scores or mastery.
